Join fellow garden writers at Navy Pier in Chicago Tues. Aug. 21 for opening day of the Independent Garden Center Show. IGC, one of the largest garden-related trade shows in the Midwest, boasts over 1,000 vendor booths. See the newest products coming to market, hear inspiring speakers and network. We'll get together for a GWA Region V meeting (members & guests from all regions welcome), lunch and special GWA speakers including TV/Radio Host Melinda Myers and Heirloom Gardening Guru Jere Gettle, owner of Baker Creek Seed, The Seed Bank and Comstock Ferre & Co. and publisher of Heirloom Gardener Magazine. Your GWA meeting registration will allow you complimentary admission to all three days of the IGC show including its' more than 40 educational sessions (a $395 value) and a concert featuring Dennis DeYoung and the music of STYX.  For more information about the IGC show, go to www.IGCshow.com. GWA meeting registration includes:

  • box lunch, special GWA speakers, gift bags and door prize drawings
  • admission to all three days of the show
  • all IGC educational sessions ( $395 value)
  • evening concert Wed., Aug. 22 featuring Dennis DeYoung and the music of STYX.

Additional fees required for:

  • Navy Pier parking: $21/day for self-park. Several hotels offer free shuttle service to Navy Pier.
  • Optional event Monday Aug. 20: Garden Center Bus Tour, includes Ball Horticulture and other sites. Additional fee for this event is $180. Advance reservations required--event sells out. See details and register on the IGC website www.IGCshow.com
